Phase 3 Final Portfolio

Here it is!!! My phase 3 final . . . finally done. I am pretty happy with most of my shots. For phase 3 we were given a list of 15 shots we had to complete by March 1st. The shots were very specific and we had to follow the assignment exactly or else we would loose points. I am really pleased with my portraiture but I show some weakness in my commercial work. Many you have seen before because this has been an on going assignment but here they are . . .

Public Relations (PR) shot and it's alternative
The alternative to this shot is really a much nicer horizontal with the skirt but the directions for this shot ask for a vertical so the shot isn't as strong as I would like it to be.

Occupational Portrait
I used the wrong lens and distorted Melissa. woops.

Product Sheet
This was the last thing I did and did not want to travel all the way to Holyoke to buy something for my product so I went to CVS and bought hair curlers. eh

Bagelry Brochure

I had to create a brochure for phase 3 portfolio so I chose the one and only BAGELRY. Bess posed as Warren/Elise because they couldn't stay. Here it is!

low key

I shot my friend Mike for my low key portrait and I am pretty happy with the outcome. My teachers hate when there is no background light and the smoke is pretty cliche, but I think it turned out really great and eye catching.

Phase three PR assignment

For phase 3 we have to take a Public Relations (PR) shot and a "different" shot of the same person. Brenna came to the studios at school and we spent a couple hours getting these done. For some reason I struggled with my lighting, but the shots get the job done.

Davis Family Portrait

I photographed my friend Teresa's beautiful family for my phase 3 final portfolio. This was the first family portrait I have ever shot and I think I did okay. I messed up with my F-stop. I wanted the background to go out of focus so I had a wide aperture, but then realized that it was stupid because I needed to get everyone in focus. I will be docked for that in my review so I will most likely have to re-shoot, but the Davis family lives on the Seacoast of New Hampshire :( They are still very cute and fun. The first photo is the one that I am leaning towards using and the others are just fun that I think are cute. Enjoy!

Teresa and Phil, I hope you enjoy these. I am new to it so that are not perfected yet, but I am going to come and re-shoot it some day to make it perfect. Let me know if you want some prints. - Kell

This is the one I would use but Isaac is out of focus :(

Update on Phase three

In phase three we need 15 shots for a portfolio that determines whether or not we move onto phase 4. I have been struggling getting some of these done but as of now I have my ad, my child portrait, my high key, my glass and my low key done. Here are some options . . .

This is my occupational portrait. I really like the idea, but I think I can do better. I used a wide angle lens which distorted melissa a little bit so if I re shoot this shot I plan on using a different lens. I love the addition of the three little girls, Ashley, Sydney and Jess.

FUN GROUP SHOT

These are just some fun other shots we took. I did not spend much time re touching them, I just thought that were cute!

This is my newest outdoor portrait. I am very happy with it.

You can't take bad pictures of these beautiful kids. I really like both portraits and I am trying to figure out which one to use for my phase 3 portfolio.

This is my Dove Ad. I really like it. It is for the anti-aging campaign. Jennifer came to school for me to take some shots. I have a bunch but this is my favorite cause of her expression. I bet you can't guess her age. She looks amazing! It looks really grey on the screen because it is an InDesign file. The actual image is much brighter.

These are my glass shots. I am not sure which one to use yet. I really like the design of the first one but I like the colors of the second one.

This is my metal shot. I don't know how I feel about this one. I think it may be a re-shoot. Commercial photography frustrates me :(

This is my Low Key. I think I will re-shoot it because I am not very happy with my crop. He is very cute though!

This is my High Key. I am very happy with this shot!

This is my outdoor portrait. I had a big plan for it but then my portable light failed me so Jennie and I shot around for a while using natural light at 7:00 during sunrise and came up with an okay shot. I will probably re-shoot it because I know I can do better.
